Self-aligning ball bearings have two rows of balls, a single common sphered raceway in the outer ring and a double deep uninterrupted raceway in the inner ring. This function enables the bearing to have self-aligning performance, which can keep the machine operating well even when an angular misalignment of the shaft relative to the housing occurs. Self-aligning ball bearings are in open or sealed type. The material of the cage can be steel or POM. Self-aligning ball bearings are not sensitive to the misalignment of the shaft relative to the housing. They are mainly used to carry radial loads and light axial loads, but they can not carry the pure axial loads.
