When assembling bearings, for back-to-back assemblies and face-to-face assemblies, the order of loading into the shaft or bearing seat is different, it must be noted.

A. Back-to-back combination (1) Install the bearing on the shaft (2) Tighten axle nuts and apply pre-tightening. (3) Install the shaft and bearing into the bearing seat and fix them with a pressure cap.

In order to avoid the unbalance caused by the inclination of nuts or the clearance of threads when fastening the high-speed and high-precision spindle, the sleeve fixing method is often used to fix the spindle axially by using the excess of the inner diameter of the shaft and the sleeve. But compared with the nut tightening, it is easier to loosen under continuous operation, so it must be checked regularly.

If the nut tightening force is too large, the inner ring of the combined ball bearing will be deformed and the pre-tightening value is larger than the set value.

B. Fixation of the outer ring In order to fix the outer ring in the axial direction, bolts are usually used to fasten the cover. If the fastening amount is too large or uneven, the raceway surface of the outer ring is more prone to deformation. It is suggested that the clearance between the cover and the end face of the bearing seat be adjusted between 0.01 mm and 0.05 mm.
